1. Walk around Nimborio
As soon as you disembark, you walk up into the village. Colorful houses contrast with black cobblestone streets, pebble courtyards, blooming flower pots on balconies. 3. Ascent to the Old Village — optional
If you feel like walking, the Old Village is about 2.5 km from the port — roughly 1 hour on foot. The medieval settlement was abandoned when residents no longer feared pirates and moved down to the port.
At the top stands the Knights’ Castle, built in the 14th century. Inside the castle, the Church of Agios Nikolaos features frescoes from the 15th and 17th centuries. From the top, the view extends all the way to Rhodes.
4. Dining by the port
Nimborio has taverns and restaurants along the port. Try fresh fish and seafood. The island is also known for thyme honey and local pasta, makarounia.

The island has very few cars and distances are short — everything is done on foot. Car rental is not necessary. If you want to visit more remote beaches, small boats operate from the port.
