In an effort to expose the welth of the Dodecanesian Islands and at the same time to encourage amateur photographers, DODEKANISOS SEAWAYS announces the start of a photography competition named "Dodecanisos : Our land".

The Dodecanesian Islands are places of exquisite beauty. Many of them are well-known while others are hidden like valuable pearls. The aim of this competition is to encourage participants to discover them and capture them using their photographic lenses. Our islands deserve our help to make their beauties known throughout the world. Therefore we invite you to take part in our competition, to capture the beauties of our islands, and we, through our website, will share them with the rest of the world.

The competition is open to men and women(regardless of their nationality) aged 16 and over. Employees of DODEKANISOS SEAWAYS and MarketPlan as well as their first-degree relatives are not allowed to participate.

Closing date for this competition is the 30th of September 2010.

Each entry can participate with up to five (5) photos, each one picturing a different island.

All photos must be sent in:

1. Digital form, in JPEG format and a 300 dpi screen resolution.
2. Printed form, printed on A4 paper, preferably photo quality.

The material must be sent by post, marked woth the note "For the photography competition" to the following postal address:

The judging committee consists of executives of DODEKANISOS SEAWAYS as well as well-known dodecanesian photographers. Their names will be announced in due course.

Winners will be awarded three prices, first, second and third, regardless of the island pictured in each picture, as well as a honourary award for each island

• The first winner will receive free tickets for the period of one (1) year or a camera DC SLR NIKON D-5000 KIT (DX 18-55 mm) .
• The second winner will receive free tickets for the period of six (6) months or or a camera DC SONY DSC-WX1B.
• The third winner will receive free tickets for the period of four (4) months or a camera DC OLYMPUS M 7020.

Note: Winners of this competition can travel to any destination, as many times and on any date they wish as long as it is within the period they are entitled to. The starting date of the period is the day after the competition results are announced. Tickets are strictly personal for each winner.

All entries will be published on the DODECANISOS SEAWAYS corporate website within October 2010. The winning photographs will be published in the local press as well as the company’s e-newsletter.

Copyrights of the first three photographs as well as the photographs that have been awarded a honourary price belong to DODEKANISOS SEAWAYS and therefore the company reserves the right to use them in advertising and other printed material as long as the photographer’s name is mentioned.

The names of the winniers will be announced within October 2010 with publications in the local press and our website. They will also be sent via email to everyone that participated.
